1.Be Goal Directed.
If you have never read the classic Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, now is a good time to buy or get a copy of this book. Setting positive, clear, measurable, specific achievable goals is the first step in learning how to become a millionaire. To be more specific this is not about a goal that says I want to get out of debt. This is vague and stated in the negative. Our subconscious interprets this by seeing only the word debt which goes to endorsing the concept of debt and keeping us stuck in debt. A proper goal should be stated as follows. I live my life as a millionaire. For the last 12 months I have banked 000 per month, I feel proud of my achievements and take pleasure in knowing that every single month I have a healthy asset base and a positive cash flow. Daily I live my dream.
2.Be Self Motivated.
By this I mean know your Why you are in business. Simon Sinek speaks so eloquently about this when he discusses his concept of the Golden Circle. Your Why is what gets you up in the morning with a passion for life. Its what makes you feel like you cant wait to get to your desk and start working. Its what leaves you feel what I call a Satisfied Invigoration at the end of the day. Your Why as Sinek says is at the core of your business and provides you with purpose. What you do in your business (mine is offering a legitimate home based business opportunity) then become easy to choose and How you run your business (mine is guiding client towards information and detail that enables them to do an effective due diligence) then becomes more focused.
3.Have a proper attitude:
What I mean by this is be positive and abundant in your attitude as you learn how to become a millionaire. I hear too many people talk about the problem with this and use words like my problem with that is .. A proper attitude is to be solution focused. There will always be challenges that business and life present. A proper attitude is about accepting that these challenges are real and looking for positive, creative out the box solutions to these challenges. I like to suggest to budding millionaire clients to form a Mastermind group to bounce issues around with colleagues. This helps prospective millionaires keep focused and provides a platform to remind each other to keep a proper attitude.
4.Have Good Personal Habits:
This might sound mundane, but one of the key steps to become a millionaire is to develop good personal habits like; Keep your promises, Return your calls, Under promise and Over deliver, be Gracious, be Respectful, have Compassion, Lead from behind. Pretty much ever well rounded millionaire I know that is admired by his/her peers has good personal habits. 5.Measure and monitor your success: In coaching my clients in how to become a millionaire we start with their master plan which consists of their Why, What and How. The next step is to design and agree on actions with time lines to deliver (to themselves). The old clich that you cant manage what you dont measure still hold true. I encourage my clients to break things down from broad goals, to annual goals, monthly objectives and daily activities.
